Camp Wildcat Board Meeting Minutes: 2/27/2005

Christi Gerstle - Chair
What I did this week:
surveys with Bryan and Stacy, talked to people about running for chair, put Charlie Q up on board agenda (see below), went on the scavenger hunt

My plans for the future:
write up yearbook blurb for Deena, talk more to ppl about running for chair, write event report with Bryan, help out with camp stuff if I can, update event directors' page

Things I need to discuss or share with the board:
lunch with Dan tomorrow at noon... Anna, I need some checks, and I should have the receipts (I'm putting this here so I don't forget... hehe).

Items you would like on the weekly email:
(say something about how board meetings are at 6 before the general meetings and are open to everyone)

Ideas for who should get Charlie:
Brian Holstrom has been doing lots of surveys; I think Grace has, too, but I think she got Charlie already.

Anca Niculescu - Vice Chair
What I did this week:
Made lots of donation calls, updated my vice chair info on the web page, came up with a cool board auction idea, met with Christi and Deena, interviewed for camp, went to capoeira social

My plans for the future:
go to camp, go to CPR/1st aide training

Items you would like on the weekly email:
it's not too late to get CPR/1st aide certified... info same as before- $30 March 12th 9am-3pm

my awesome girl friends who never fail me, Christi's sweet birthday dinner fun, the girls for doing so well planning camp


Katie Paulson - Day Activities
What I did this week:
lots of surveys!; Day Activites meeting; contacted Howenstine HS; talked to Cory about Flowing Wells; held the AWESOME social with Clay; went to Sinbad's for the dinner social; had my interview for BCIII; did high school application for junior counselors

My plans for the future:
re-contact Howenstine on Monday; finish surveys; contact Brewster Center, ACC, UMC, crisis center; ASDB, One-on-One; talk to Tonya about day activity with basketball team (time and kids); perhaps attend another social; oh yeah: GO TO BCIII!!!! WOOO!

Things I need to discuss or share with the board:
Mock Camp elections?? (I need # from Bryan!)


Items you would like on the weekly email:
Come to the day activities meeting this Thursday, March 3! Katie is looking for people to direct activities that she's setting up! If interested, come to the meeting or contact her at kathrynp@email.arizona.edu.

Ideas for who should get Charlie:
Stephanize Zatkowsky- she was at the D.A. ALL day on the 19th; came to scavenger hunt social; also helped out with concessions

Points of Pride:
picking up a tennis raquet after a year; scavenging; parking in the median; confusing nymphomaniac with necropheliac; phrase of the week: "harp on you"

Betsy Carroll - Camps Coordinator
My plans for the future:
Talk to directors and get storage ready for camp.

What I did this week:
some surveys, but I didn't get them all

talked w/ christi about beeline

My plans for the future:
meet with camp directors & drivers
pack for camp

we need to write a check to beeline for the remainder of what we owe them
nominations for Adventure Camp

there we're a lot of cool new people at the scavenger hunt, but I don't know who in particular should get it.

Nicole Sanderson - Fundraising
What I did this week:
Surveys fosho
Made Board Auction board Contracts & board auction buyer contracts & a cd for the event.
Talked to balloon animal guy
Hosted the scavenger hunt afterparty and went to the sinbad's social

My plans for the future:
Help stacy with some donations this week (wine)

Things I need to discuss or share with the board:
Price of auctioneers.
Why surveys are not so hot.

Items you would like on the weekly email:
If you won your bid at the Board Auction you have two weeks to get those auction donations!

Who did the most stuff at the scavenger hunt?

Tonya Kirby - Donations
What I did this week:
worked on donations for BC3, did interviews for BC3, can't remember what else I did.

My plans for the future:
Donations for camp, staff meeting, CAMP!!!

baby cheesecakes, cousins, sleep


Clayton Clark - Campus Relations
What I did this week:
This is my second agenda because it took me too long to do the first one, socials, psap info, surveys...

My plans for the future:
PSAP for auction ad, socials (Zach's?), signup for intramural times on march first, surveys. I'm probably forgetting something.

Things I need to discuss or share with the board:
PSAP, $130 approved for softball and floor hockey, captains meeting is march 23rd @6:00pm, play starts march 28th

Crazy scavenger hunt photos, Nerd Rap and Indian techno.


Ren Clark - Community Relations
What I did this week:
nothing much but i grabbed a t-shirt for maggie over at carb boom, thought of something to do for the board auction, got food poisoning...

My plans for the future:
go over to carb boom - hopefully set up something for Adventure camp

Points of Pride:
clint for taking care of me and pretending that he never heard me rawlf and for actually enjoying sex and the city...maybe a little too much, my other friends for stopping in through out the night, a shower after 2 days of being bedridden, gatoraid since it was the only thing that kept me alive


Deena Davis - Alumni Relations
What I did this week:
i had a little dialogue going with kevin about his attendance to the auction, had a lunch with christi and anca about possibly being chair, discussed BC4 and the possibility of running with betsy

My plans for the future:
look more into being chair person, look at what i have to do to plan the 40 year ruinion, get together yearbook stuff

Things I need to discuss or share with the board:
beware boys named rob

Anna Westendorf - Treasurer
What I did this week:
scavenger hunt, filing stuff, bills, found out trust info, board auction idea

My plans for the future:
deposit checks, pay more bills

Things I need to discuss or share with the board:
copy machine? is there one we can use? Also, where do we want checks deposited?

Points of Pride:
chimichangas, dogs who eat carrots, boys who make cakes (I want one)


Stacy Smith - Other
What I did this week:
Made calls for resorts and travel. Picked up donations and went to Walmart.

My plans for the future:
Make loose ends calls and calls for wine.

Points of Pride:
My brothers.


Ren Clark, Cory Valdez, Tonya Kirby - Other (Spring Fling Directors)
What I did this week:
went to a Spring Fling meeting and got the 411

My plans for the future:
start recruiting! continue going to SF meetings, get cashiers soon because they need to go to cashier training shifts in March. We need 7 cashiers total and Cory, Tonya and Ren are going to take three of those spots

Items you would like on the weekly email:
BE A SPRING FLING CASHIER!!! we need at least 4 members to be a cashier at sometime during Spring Fling on behalf of Camp Wildcat. These shifts are mandatory - meaning once you volunteer for the shift, you must follow through with your committment otherwise Camp Wildcat is fined and then Camp Wildcat passes the fine on to you. These shifts are only 3 hours long and all you have to do is sit in an admissions both at the front of the carnival and take people's money...easy enough!!
If you do sign up to be a cashier, you must attend ONE of these meetings dates:
March 23rd, March 29th, March 31st...times and location TBA


Sun Goddesses - Other (Camp Directors)
What I did this week:
interviews for camp, putting together groups for camp, refining camp schedule, getting donations for camp, trying out bottle rockets

My plans for the future:
meeting with Laura to find packing time, get list of people who will be driving, have camp!!! and parents meeting

Points of Pride:
Being wonderful sun goddesses!!
